Consortia Partnership Limited (“Consortia”) is licensed by the Jersey Financial Services Commission to manage and administer funds, albeit we specialise in property and private equity. This service has become a key element in the development of our business. We take pride in the provision of a client focussed service tailored to the needs of the investment structure. Consortia maintains a network of professional advisors appropriate to the fund being established.
We provide trusteeships for collective investment schemes regulated, amongst others, under the Collective Investment Funds (Jersey) Law, 1988; Expert funds; Jersey Property Unit Trusts and Very Private Unit Trusts (see briefing on Offshore Property Funds for definitions). We also provide directors and partners for funds established under the Control of Borrowing (Jersey) Law, 1958 and the Limited Partnerships (Jersey) Law, 1994 and provide directors for funds not directly administered by us.

Michael Farrow is a founder director of Consortia following seven years as an executive director and trustee of a very substantial family trust whose main activity was property investment and development in UK, central Europe and California. He currently sits on the Boards of both UK listed and private property companies and private equity funds. From 1993 -1997 he was group company secretary of Cater Allen, Jersey and, prior to that, a regular army officer. He holds an MSc in Corporate Governance and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries & Administrators.

Christopher McFadyen is a founder director of Consortia. He originally established the Channel Island offices of the accountancy practice of Moores Rowland International and subsequently negotiated the acquisition of their trust operations by the Cater Allen Banking group, later to be acquired itself by Abbey National. He is a Chartered Accountant, a Certified Accountant and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. He specialises in advising on complex trust structures, both private and institutional, and is called upon to give expert opinions on trust litigation.
